@Allison I don't know if this is possible for you, but one thing I do to bring more energy and light to my evenings is to take a quick shower.  I wash off all the energy that's been sticking to me and just get warm and connected.…

Hey ladies, how can I really sell my non-scholarly skills to a job?  I have a degree, and little idea of what I am truly looking for career wise.  I'm good at a lot but very schizophrenic when it comes to jobs.  I have broad…

Hmmm... I looked it up, I exit at 127.  New Brunswick or Edison would be about halfway.  New Brunswick might be more even.  Any other Jersey girls out there?  Maybe we should send a message?

Great question @Rosi!   Today I can be thankful for the library for providing a free space outside my home and for my new coat to take walks in.

The Ultimate Special Relationship Part 2: sMothering with love

In recent years it has become more and more difficult for me to truly LOVE my mother.  I love her with gratitude, but I don't see the LOVE that makes us equal beings.  It makes me anxious to sit with the idea because I feel like a failure.  She is a wonderful mother and has done the best she knew how, but still there are failures that became large in the mind of my ego.  So large that even as I began to feel more love towards others, it continued to shadow the love I shared with…

Giving up on the 9-5...for now

I'm currently unemployed.  Some days that totally sucks.  I am bored, I feel wasted, I feel unmotivated.  I could have done a ton of stuff that was helpful for me or others and still feel I didn't do "anything" cause I'm not getting paid for it.  I could have spent the day learning more than I did in college or lounging in front of the TV and it all feels the same.  Why?

Because I let it.  I let my ego beat me up over being unconventional.  I am unemployed because of life…

The Ultimate Special Relationship Part 1: Knocking them off the Pedestals

Today the Spirit Junkie message in my inbox was about having a good relationship with our mother.  It is timely, because this is what I have been working on for the past week.  I love my mother, but living with her after an absence of two years has been a difficult adjustment.  I (or rather, my ego) wanted to blame her for all the clashes and snippy words.  However, I know that those reactions were my choice.

Families evoke a lot of feelings.  Often they planted and watered…

The Strength to Surrender to Spirit

Surrender

: to give oneself up into the power of another

In the everyday world we live in, surrender often has a negative connotation.  It means to give up, to let someone else take the wheel, to give in.  It is the opposite of strength.  It is weakness.

When I began this spiritual path, the idea of surrendering was something I shied away from.  I liked praying, but I also liked having my way.  I thought…

Hi Jennifer, thank you for your question, yesterday on my Astrology blog: "Could You Have More Fun". In regards to living in the southern hemisphere, the only thing you have to watch out for is the time difference. If I talk about an aspect taking place at 7am EST, that same aspect would take place at 11pm in Sydney, Australia. So depending on which time zone you live in, you would have to adjust anything that has a time attached to it. Feel free to ask more questions, if anything else is unclear ;-) blessings, Sonja

Hello Sweetie,

Thank you for the beautiful comment!  It was wonderful to wake up to this morning.

I myself really enjoyed your introvert post. It's obvious that you are also an empath... someone very sensitive to the energies and "happenings on" within others thus it's why public events can be draining :-)  I can do them in doses (except for when I'm teaching, then I LOVE IT! lol)

Keep in touch would love to learn more about you,

Alessandra
